Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae: Characteristic and clinical perspective

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Hypervirulent K. pneumoniae (hvKP). A virulent pathogen that has the ability to infect individuals in various age, multiple ports of entry and cause infectious syndromes. Therefore urges an increase awareness perspective on characteristics clinical feature hvKP, better understanding providing appropriate treatment cases infection caused by hvKP. Main Text: (hvKP) was first reported Taiwan 1986. This bacteria responsible for liver abscess with septic endophthalmitis, these some patient have extrahepatic complications such as meningitis pneumonia, prostate pyogenic ophthalmia. There are several virulence factors hvKP as, capsule main defensive factor, aerobactin provide iron supply Colibactin can suppressing activity regulatory T lymphocyte cells, could improve survival avoid process phagocytosis, complement, antimicrobial peptides specific antibodies. The pathophysiology showed similar symptom conventional cKP except access syndrom. Conclusion: threat increases worldwide due more vary compared cKP. Consequently, special measures vaccine need be develop order eradicate this particularly among pediatric patient.

Hypervirulent (hypermucoviscous) Klebsiella pneumoniae

A new hypervirulent (hypermucoviscous) variant of Klebsiella pneumoniae has emerged. First described in the Asian Pacific Rim, it now increasingly recognized in Western countries. Defining clinical features are the ability to cause serious, life-threatening community-acquired infection in younger healthy hosts, including liver abscess, pneumonia, meningitis and endophthalmitis and the ability t...

Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae

Hypervirulent strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae are associated with abscess formation, commonly hepatic, and metastatic spread, even in healthy patients. We describe a case of this clinical syndrome, genotypic and phenotypic features of the isolate, and briefly review epidemiology, clinical manifestations, and pathogenesis of this underappreciated syndrome.

Mapping the Evolution of Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae

UNLABELLED Highly invasive, community-acquired Klebsiella pneumoniae infections have recently emerged, resulting in pyogenic liver abscesses. These infections are caused by hypervirulent K. pneumoniae (hvKP) isolates primarily of capsule serotype K1 or K2. Hypervirulent K1 isolates belong to clonal complex 23 (CC23), indicating that this clonal lineage has a specific genetic background conferri...

Klebsiella pneumoniae in Singapore: Hypervirulent Infections and the Carbapenemase Threat

Klebsiella pneumoniae remains a major pathogen responsible for localized infections such as cystitis and pneumonia, and disseminated infections that may result in severe sepsis and death. Invasive disease such as liver abscesses and endogenous endophthalmitis are associated with capsular serotypes K1 and K2. These infections require a prolonged course of antimicrobial treatment which has evolve...

Clinical and molecular characteristics of emerging hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae bloodstream infections in mainland China.

Recently, the newly emerged hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae strain (hvKP) has caused great concern globally, but the clinical features and molecular characteristics of bacteremia caused by hvKP are rarely reported in mainland China. Seventy patients with K. pneumoniae bacteremia were investigated to study the clinical features of hvKP infection from 2008 till 2012 in Beijing Chao-Yang Hospi...
